Radiation Consultation - Dr. Elshaikh

Ok so I am back from my consultation for treatment of my cancer thing.

First, it was nice that the other doctor (I think he was Dr. Sevak) explained the hysterectomy and then the vaginectomy with the use of a model.  It did help to see what really happened. Anywho, my cancer tumor was about 3cm.

So treatment....
First, I have to go for assimilation on Friday at 9am at HFH.  This is for going through the process of the actual radiation.  Not really sure how long this will take but whatever.. moving onward. Of course I will be blogging this when it happens.


After that mess is done, I get to choose the time that will work for myself and the radiation team.  OK this is what made my jaw dropped but apparently it is normal but I will be going 5 days a week for a 20 minute treatment for 5 weeks and then 3 treatments of the internal after the external.

But at least I won't have to pay for parking, and parking for radiation patients is close plus I can do this alone without pestering anyone.  Hoping I can get a time about 10am so I can go home and sleep it off.

So now I wait for Friday....love this waiting bit. *rolling eyes*

OK here's the poop on the Dermi today.  I saw Dr. Henderson and she is a resident at HF.  I went to see a dermi because of the previous post of my sores on my scalp.   She looked me over and was very concerned with the one I have on top of my scalp.  It's deep and she thought it could turn into a cancerous problem.  I did tell her that is where my previous dermi did the punch biopsy.  Dr. H brought in another dr for a second opinion and that doctor stated that if that wound wasn't closed up by stitches and I have lupus, the wound might not have closed up and healed properly.  So in essence, it made Dr. H feel better that it was the area of the punch biopsy.   So today, as I had a hunch, I was injected with cortisone.  That is something I never will forget but she was a lot better than my previous dermi.  She was gentle and gave me some breaks.  I had injections done to the side areas and my crater on top.  The cortisone ...

My head is going to explode!

Ah the life of a lupie!  So much fun! A few days ago, I left eye started to hurt and I thought it was just typical crappy weather problem.  That started Wednesday.  Long story short... it puffed out and I had a fever of 101. Not a pretty picture at all.  It was a lot worse than this.  Just hated  how I looked and felt, especially with the holidays coming around and the noise. Anywho, went to the family doctor today and she gave me antibiotics (augmentin) and boy those are HUGE pills!  Plus she recommended a saline flush so why not.  So now I'm home and just wanted to update my blog since I haven't in some time.  I have been writing in my journal of my own personal thoughts but I like to keep my medical stuff on here so I can refer back. Ok, I'm going to lay down and sleep this pain off.
