Dermatologist - Dr Kohen visit

This is the third Dermi I went to see regarding my scalp lesions.  The major ones have healed up (YAY!) and I knew I had some minor active areas.

So today I went to see another dermi and her name is Dr. Kohen (again through HF).  Another dermi who knows about discoid lupus.  Finally hitting all of them now!  Anywho, she did an examination of my scalp and then my fingernails.  I never had a feeling of such embarrassment about my nails until today.  But she had this really cool scope that she looked into to see inside the fingernails.

I had the same injections that Dr. H gave me but Dr. Kohen is going to look into about the fingernail problem.  It may be a topical but she wants to do some research on it.  Kind of exciting!  I may have normal fingernails like everyone else!

so now I am home!  Got a nice hot shower in, drank some apple juice and getting ready to do the tram dance and watch Big Bang Theory too!

OK here's the poop on the Dermi today.  I saw Dr. Henderson and she is a resident at HF.  I went to see a dermi because of the previous post of my sores on my scalp.   She looked me over and was very concerned with the one I have on top of my scalp.  It's deep and she thought it could turn into a cancerous problem.  I did tell her that is where my previous dermi did the punch biopsy.  Dr. H brought in another dr for a second opinion and that doctor stated that if that wound wasn't closed up by stitches and I have lupus, the wound might not have closed up and healed properly.  So in essence, it made Dr. H feel better that it was the area of the punch biopsy.   So today, as I had a hunch, I was injected with cortisone.  That is something I never will forget but she was a lot better than my previous dermi.  She was gentle and gave me some breaks.  I had injections done to the side areas and my crater on top.  The cortisone ...

My head is going to explode!

Ah the life of a lupie!  So much fun! A few days ago, I left eye started to hurt and I thought it was just typical crappy weather problem.  That started Wednesday.  Long story short... it puffed out and I had a fever of 101. Not a pretty picture at all.  It was a lot worse than this.  Just hated  how I looked and felt, especially with the holidays coming around and the noise. Anywho, went to the family doctor today and she gave me antibiotics (augmentin) and boy those are HUGE pills!  Plus she recommended a saline flush so why not.  So now I'm home and just wanted to update my blog since I haven't in some time.  I have been writing in my journal of my own personal thoughts but I like to keep my medical stuff on here so I can refer back. Ok, I'm going to lay down and sleep this pain off.
