Post follow-up with Dr Hanna

Ok So it has been 2 weeks since my last surgery and of course he has to poking around down there.  At least the cramping is normal that I have been dealing with.  He also said that it is still very sore where he scooped me out (my term, not his).

So I had to ask him, what exactly will happen this Wednesday when I see the radiologist dude.  He told me that the doctor will explain everything in detail but I will be going for about 6 weeks worth of treatment and it will be internal and external.  The internal will be like the proby thing that the OB doctor uses for pap smears but it will be left in for about 30 minutes.  Other than that, that's all I know.  At least if no one can go with me on Wednesday, I won't be too bad off.  It is all talk talk talk the first day.  Doctors call it consultations, I call it talk talk talk.

So at least I know a bit more today than last week.  Tomorrow I get my eyes dilated (fun!) and then Wednesday talk to the radiation dude.

OK here's the poop on the Dermi today.  I saw Dr. Henderson and she is a resident at HF.  I went to see a dermi because of the previous post of my sores on my scalp.   She looked me over and was very concerned with the one I have on top of my scalp.  It's deep and she thought it could turn into a cancerous problem.  I did tell her that is where my previous dermi did the punch biopsy.  Dr. H brought in another dr for a second opinion and that doctor stated that if that wound wasn't closed up by stitches and I have lupus, the wound might not have closed up and healed properly.  So in essence, it made Dr. H feel better that it was the area of the punch biopsy.   So today, as I had a hunch, I was injected with cortisone.  That is something I never will forget but she was a lot better than my previous dermi.  She was gentle and gave me some breaks.  I had injections done to the side areas and my crater on top.  The cortisone ...

My head is going to explode!

Ah the life of a lupie!  So much fun! A few days ago, I left eye started to hurt and I thought it was just typical crappy weather problem.  That started Wednesday.  Long story short... it puffed out and I had a fever of 101. Not a pretty picture at all.  It was a lot worse than this.  Just hated  how I looked and felt, especially with the holidays coming around and the noise. Anywho, went to the family doctor today and she gave me antibiotics (augmentin) and boy those are HUGE pills!  Plus she recommended a saline flush so why not.  So now I'm home and just wanted to update my blog since I haven't in some time.  I have been writing in my journal of my own personal thoughts but I like to keep my medical stuff on here so I can refer back. Ok, I'm going to lay down and sleep this pain off.
