Dad back in the hospital

I got a call from my mom yesterday (Friday).  She has told me that dad's white blood count is way too high (according to their doctor).  So they finished their dinner, got cleaned up and went down to the hospital on 19/Garfield.

The doctors have no idea what is making his white count so high.  He doesn't have a fever or any other symptom to flare up the immune system.  John and I went down there and I met with mom in the ER room.  Some nurses and aids came in and did their thing and then off to a room!  Terry and Patty also joined the party and met up at his room as well.

So now it's the waiting game of 'what is this infection?'.  At least he got his room last night and maybe mom got some sleep as well.    Hopefully today the doctors can give us some idea what is going on with him.

Praying for some kind of answer

****UPDATE****

Well he was released and back home.  Mom has to make an appt for a bone marrow test.

OK here's the poop on the Dermi today.  I saw Dr. Henderson and she is a resident at HF.  I went to see a dermi because of the previous post of my sores on my scalp.   She looked me over and was very concerned with the one I have on top of my scalp.  It's deep and she thought it could turn into a cancerous problem.  I did tell her that is where my previous dermi did the punch biopsy.  Dr. H brought in another dr for a second opinion and that doctor stated that if that wound wasn't closed up by stitches and I have lupus, the wound might not have closed up and healed properly.  So in essence, it made Dr. H feel better that it was the area of the punch biopsy.   So today, as I had a hunch, I was injected with cortisone.  That is something I never will forget but she was a lot better than my previous dermi.  She was gentle and gave me some breaks.  I had injections done to the side areas and my crater on top.  The cortisone ...

My head is going to explode!

Ah the life of a lupie!  So much fun! A few days ago, I left eye started to hurt and I thought it was just typical crappy weather problem.  That started Wednesday.  Long story short... it puffed out and I had a fever of 101. Not a pretty picture at all.  It was a lot worse than this.  Just hated  how I looked and felt, especially with the holidays coming around and the noise. Anywho, went to the family doctor today and she gave me antibiotics (augmentin) and boy those are HUGE pills!  Plus she recommended a saline flush so why not.  So now I'm home and just wanted to update my blog since I haven't in some time.  I have been writing in my journal of my own personal thoughts but I like to keep my medical stuff on here so I can refer back. Ok, I'm going to lay down and sleep this pain off.
