Brachytherapy fitting

One more day and I am done with the external radiation treatments!  YAY!  It's been a hell of a ride with my body having a lot of rejections.  I cannot wait to get things back to where they were...and eat a cheeseburger!  I truly do miss that!

Today was the brachy 'fitting'.  After I was finished with treatment today I was led to an examination room.  Of course I had to strip down (bottom half) and then the doctor pretty much did a pelvic exam.  Got through that ok...no problem.  Then he takes out this cylinder that was huge (well it seemed huge to me).  He gelled it up and tried to insert it.  Mind the word here.."tried".  The fucker hurt like hell!  I know radiation is supposed to shrink the walls of the vagina but WOW!  I saw stars!  He did try twice and to no avail... could not deal with that pain.  He did mention it is the largest cylinder but oy!

My dates for this are Sept 4, 9 and 11th at 10am.  Hopefully it won't be as painful as today's clusterplop.  Now I have a sore bum and a sore who-ha.  Great way to start my holiday weekend...walking like a penguin.  :(

OK here's the poop on the Dermi today.  I saw Dr. Henderson and she is a resident at HF.  I went to see a dermi because of the previous post of my sores on my scalp.   She looked me over and was very concerned with the one I have on top of my scalp.  It's deep and she thought it could turn into a cancerous problem.  I did tell her that is where my previous dermi did the punch biopsy.  Dr. H brought in another dr for a second opinion and that doctor stated that if that wound wasn't closed up by stitches and I have lupus, the wound might not have closed up and healed properly.  So in essence, it made Dr. H feel better that it was the area of the punch biopsy.   So today, as I had a hunch, I was injected with cortisone.  That is something I never will forget but she was a lot better than my previous dermi.  She was gentle and gave me some breaks.  I had injections done to the side areas and my crater on top.  The cortisone ...

My head is going to explode!

Ah the life of a lupie!  So much fun! A few days ago, I left eye started to hurt and I thought it was just typical crappy weather problem.  That started Wednesday.  Long story short... it puffed out and I had a fever of 101. Not a pretty picture at all.  It was a lot worse than this.  Just hated  how I looked and felt, especially with the holidays coming around and the noise. Anywho, went to the family doctor today and she gave me antibiotics (augmentin) and boy those are HUGE pills!  Plus she recommended a saline flush so why not.  So now I'm home and just wanted to update my blog since I haven't in some time.  I have been writing in my journal of my own personal thoughts but I like to keep my medical stuff on here so I can refer back. Ok, I'm going to lay down and sleep this pain off.
