Post surgery

I am Day 4 of post surgery and last night was another mile stone... a shower and sleeping on my belly!  Everyday I am getting a bit stronger, walking about more.  I cannot believe that I had major surgery and I am up and about.  Just fantastic!

I am still on driving restriction but that's ok.  I only have one class this week due to 4th of July coming up.  What timing!

I am staying on top of my pain and not being a superhero. I learned that one a long time ago with Lupus.  Taking it easy is not new to me.  Now I can look back at my pre-op posts and laugh how nerved up I was about it.  It's nothing to sneeze at but my surgeon is awesome and very compassionate.  I had an awesome team at my side and most of all prayers from my loved ones.

Now I have to continue to get better so my life can continue.  Almost finished with school, more camping adventures and just lovin' life!

OK here's the poop on the Dermi today.  I saw Dr. Henderson and she is a resident at HF.  I went to see a dermi because of the previous post of my sores on my scalp.   She looked me over and was very concerned with the one I have on top of my scalp.  It's deep and she thought it could turn into a cancerous problem.  I did tell her that is where my previous dermi did the punch biopsy.  Dr. H brought in another dr for a second opinion and that doctor stated that if that wound wasn't closed up by stitches and I have lupus, the wound might not have closed up and healed properly.  So in essence, it made Dr. H feel better that it was the area of the punch biopsy.   So today, as I had a hunch, I was injected with cortisone.  That is something I never will forget but she was a lot better than my previous dermi.  She was gentle and gave me some breaks.  I had injections done to the side areas and my crater on top.  The cortisone ...

My head is going to explode!

Ah the life of a lupie!  So much fun! A few days ago, I left eye started to hurt and I thought it was just typical crappy weather problem.  That started Wednesday.  Long story short... it puffed out and I had a fever of 101. Not a pretty picture at all.  It was a lot worse than this.  Just hated  how I looked and felt, especially with the holidays coming around and the noise. Anywho, went to the family doctor today and she gave me antibiotics (augmentin) and boy those are HUGE pills!  Plus she recommended a saline flush so why not.  So now I'm home and just wanted to update my blog since I haven't in some time.  I have been writing in my journal of my own personal thoughts but I like to keep my medical stuff on here so I can refer back. Ok, I'm going to lay down and sleep this pain off.
