Two Walking Charities this Year!

This year I am doing two charities that include walking.  Yes, I will end up paying for it in the end but it is so worth it.

In date order...first I have MARL's 20th annual Tail-Wagger Two-Step.  I have never done this one before but this Stacy and I are raising money to help shelters in the Metro Detroit area to get help.

We are trying to raise $600 dollars to help out.  This is taking place at Independance Oaks in Clarkston.  We hope to get our goal!

My second walk but I have been doing for 6 years is my Lupus Walk for Michigan Lupus Foundation.  My goal is to reach $500 dollars and we walk at Lake St Clair Metro Park (aka Metro Beach).  

Last year, my parents, Stacy and I did the walk.  My mom always kicks our butt.  She's a power walker! 

This year they are having on a Sunday in the afternoon.  Odd but I guess they are trying something different.


So there you have it... my two walks for charities!  Hope to get some support!

OK here's the poop on the Dermi today.  I saw Dr. Henderson and she is a resident at HF.  I went to see a dermi because of the previous post of my sores on my scalp.   She looked me over and was very concerned with the one I have on top of my scalp.  It's deep and she thought it could turn into a cancerous problem.  I did tell her that is where my previous dermi did the punch biopsy.  Dr. H brought in another dr for a second opinion and that doctor stated that if that wound wasn't closed up by stitches and I have lupus, the wound might not have closed up and healed properly.  So in essence, it made Dr. H feel better that it was the area of the punch biopsy.   So today, as I had a hunch, I was injected with cortisone.  That is something I never will forget but she was a lot better than my previous dermi.  She was gentle and gave me some breaks.  I had injections done to the side areas and my crater on top.  The cortisone ...

My head is going to explode!

Ah the life of a lupie!  So much fun! A few days ago, I left eye started to hurt and I thought it was just typical crappy weather problem.  That started Wednesday.  Long story short... it puffed out and I had a fever of 101. Not a pretty picture at all.  It was a lot worse than this.  Just hated  how I looked and felt, especially with the holidays coming around and the noise. Anywho, went to the family doctor today and she gave me antibiotics (augmentin) and boy those are HUGE pills!  Plus she recommended a saline flush so why not.  So now I'm home and just wanted to update my blog since I haven't in some time.  I have been writing in my journal of my own personal thoughts but I like to keep my medical stuff on here so I can refer back. Ok, I'm going to lay down and sleep this pain off.
