Our first 5K - The Color Run

Finally something positive to write!  Getting pretty lame with all the doom and gloom crap!

On Saturday, June 21, 2014, Stacy and I did our first 5k in Yspilanti!  We picked up our packets on Friday in Depot Town and got some lunch at Sidetracks.  It was pretty darn good food!  The sweet potato fries were thick cut and very juicy!

Saturday was the big day and we were ready to go!  We arrived about 730am and was in the starting area just waiting around.  About 810am, we were off!  We did the walking side but the runners kept coming from both sides of us.  Maybe they should of let them go first?  Anywho, our first color was purple and we were plastered! 2nd color was blue and it wasn't all that bad. Next was Pink and Stacy was in her glory!  Her favorite color! Lastly was yellow...not quite orange but still bright!  We took some of our own pictures and we also had the pros.  We stayed for the after party and did some color throwing of our own!  Overall, a great time and definitely going next year!

OK here's the poop on the Dermi today.  I saw Dr. Henderson and she is a resident at HF.  I went to see a dermi because of the previous post of my sores on my scalp.   She looked me over and was very concerned with the one I have on top of my scalp.  It's deep and she thought it could turn into a cancerous problem.  I did tell her that is where my previous dermi did the punch biopsy.  Dr. H brought in another dr for a second opinion and that doctor stated that if that wound wasn't closed up by stitches and I have lupus, the wound might not have closed up and healed properly.  So in essence, it made Dr. H feel better that it was the area of the punch biopsy.   So today, as I had a hunch, I was injected with cortisone.  That is something I never will forget but she was a lot better than my previous dermi.  She was gentle and gave me some breaks.  I had injections done to the side areas and my crater on top.  The cortisone ...

My head is going to explode!

Ah the life of a lupie!  So much fun! A few days ago, I left eye started to hurt and I thought it was just typical crappy weather problem.  That started Wednesday.  Long story short... it puffed out and I had a fever of 101. Not a pretty picture at all.  It was a lot worse than this.  Just hated  how I looked and felt, especially with the holidays coming around and the noise. Anywho, went to the family doctor today and she gave me antibiotics (augmentin) and boy those are HUGE pills!  Plus she recommended a saline flush so why not.  So now I'm home and just wanted to update my blog since I haven't in some time.  I have been writing in my journal of my own personal thoughts but I like to keep my medical stuff on here so I can refer back. Ok, I'm going to lay down and sleep this pain off.
