DeafNation Expo 2013

Today was the DeafNation Expo at MCC South Campus.

I made arrangements to meet my friend, Melissa so we could catch up and look at all the arts/crafts stuff they had on display. I was re-introduced to her friend, Julie and met Karen.

So as we were looking at all the new technology and services, of course what caught our eyes was the amount of clothing and jewelry.  Hey, we are girls and we like to shop! :)  Lucky for me, I didn't bring any cash but found that some booths accepted credit cards.  Dang it! As we were looking around, I saw a beach bag that look absolutely cute!  I was fighting with myself to get it or not and so Julie pretty much said 'GET IT!'

I also bought a hat with the ILY sign on it as well (similar to the beach bag sign).  After our adventure, we stopped at Andrea's for a quick
bite to eat.  Overall, it was a great day.  I wasn't expecting to meet anyone but it was really nice to walk around and have company!

OK here's the poop on the Dermi today.  I saw Dr. Henderson and she is a resident at HF.  I went to see a dermi because of the previous post of my sores on my scalp.   She looked me over and was very concerned with the one I have on top of my scalp.  It's deep and she thought it could turn into a cancerous problem.  I did tell her that is where my previous dermi did the punch biopsy.  Dr. H brought in another dr for a second opinion and that doctor stated that if that wound wasn't closed up by stitches and I have lupus, the wound might not have closed up and healed properly.  So in essence, it made Dr. H feel better that it was the area of the punch biopsy.   So today, as I had a hunch, I was injected with cortisone.  That is something I never will forget but she was a lot better than my previous dermi.  She was gentle and gave me some breaks.  I had injections done to the side areas and my crater on top.  The cortisone ...

My head is going to explode!

Ah the life of a lupie!  So much fun! A few days ago, I left eye started to hurt and I thought it was just typical crappy weather problem.  That started Wednesday.  Long story short... it puffed out and I had a fever of 101. Not a pretty picture at all.  It was a lot worse than this.  Just hated  how I looked and felt, especially with the holidays coming around and the noise. Anywho, went to the family doctor today and she gave me antibiotics (augmentin) and boy those are HUGE pills!  Plus she recommended a saline flush so why not.  So now I'm home and just wanted to update my blog since I haven't in some time.  I have been writing in my journal of my own personal thoughts but I like to keep my medical stuff on here so I can refer back. Ok, I'm going to lay down and sleep this pain off.
