Slowly slipping away...

The last few weeks my dad has been steadily getting weaker. After my last post, he really has not been the same.

Mom had me read the points of someone getting close to dying.  Yes, not a happy topic but one to be addressed because it will happen.  Anywho, he shows the signs and it seems the inevitable is happening.  He is very agitated, seeing people who are not there, skin color is changing...well you get the point.  He wants to go.  It may not seem like a lot on this page but to see/hear him call out and then have no recollection on who you are is enough to be burned in my memory.

Now I cannot forgot the caretaker, my mom.  This is a man who she has known most of her life and to see him broken down like this is disheartening.  I'm a daughter and it hurts and I could only imagine what it is like to have your husband of almost 55 years reduced a helpless child.  Again, mere words cannot capture the sorrow she is going through.

Tomorrow we are going to the funeral home to do arrangements.  Another stressful but needed thing to do.
