My 40th Surprise!

Yesterday was my birthday and I turned the big 4-0.  Not that it means anything but a number.  Anywho, for me, it was a typical day of seeing my rheummy, getting blood work done, and a mammogram.  Then I came home to cut the back grass, dishes, laundry, and the barrage of best wishes on FB. It was nice to see all of those from family and friends.

Later, when John came home from work, we went out to dinner.  I was expecting the hoard of questions on where do you want to go for your birthday but I didn't.  Meh, great no decisions for me to make!  He took me Bad Brad's BBQ (My fav) for dinner.  We get inside and I am walking to the server counter to get seated and he walks me past all those suckers waiting to our table...with Stacy and Bill!   I got to share my birthday dinner with them!  YAY! They sung happy birthday to me and she made me a card, got me some squishy, cute socks and a cow bracelet!  It was truly a surprise.  Then our waitress brought me a rootbeer float for my birthday too!  I ate a little and my stomach was kind of upset but not too bad of an explosion..

So now here I am, the morning after and my body hasn't processed last night's yum-fest!  But overall, great birthday with great friends.  No other way would I have loved it! <3 p="">

OK here's the poop on the Dermi today.  I saw Dr. Henderson and she is a resident at HF.  I went to see a dermi because of the previous post of my sores on my scalp.   She looked me over and was very concerned with the one I have on top of my scalp.  It's deep and she thought it could turn into a cancerous problem.  I did tell her that is where my previous dermi did the punch biopsy.  Dr. H brought in another dr for a second opinion and that doctor stated that if that wound wasn't closed up by stitches and I have lupus, the wound might not have closed up and healed properly.  So in essence, it made Dr. H feel better that it was the area of the punch biopsy.   So today, as I had a hunch, I was injected with cortisone.  That is something I never will forget but she was a lot better than my previous dermi.  She was gentle and gave me some breaks.  I had injections done to the side areas and my crater on top.  The cortisone ...

My head is going to explode!

Ah the life of a lupie!  So much fun! A few days ago, I left eye started to hurt and I thought it was just typical crappy weather problem.  That started Wednesday.  Long story short... it puffed out and I had a fever of 101. Not a pretty picture at all.  It was a lot worse than this.  Just hated  how I looked and felt, especially with the holidays coming around and the noise. Anywho, went to the family doctor today and she gave me antibiotics (augmentin) and boy those are HUGE pills!  Plus she recommended a saline flush so why not.  So now I'm home and just wanted to update my blog since I haven't in some time.  I have been writing in my journal of my own personal thoughts but I like to keep my medical stuff on here so I can refer back. Ok, I'm going to lay down and sleep this pain off.
