Back on the Prednisone...

OK, so I figured this would happen again but just wasn't mentally ready for it... I am back on prednisone.  So some of you maybe thinking why that is so bad... Let me give you a list of what happened with me on prednisone
  • Eating everything in sight
  • I become even more moody
  • More susceptible to even a minor cold
  • Body becomes bloated 
  • Sores on my head (anywhere actually) heal much, much slower..

the list goes on.  Hoping this will be short term and help out claw hand in the process.  It just angers me that I have to be on it during the holidays when there is so much food around.  I recently lost 45 lbs and now I feel so defeated because I am back on this crap.  It messes with my mind and I become a mega-b*tch (more so) when I am on this stuff.

Now my Rheummy told me that if the prednisone does not do its 'job', she may put me on Benlysta which is given intravenously. 

Again... just not ready for all this at one time.

OK here's the poop on the Dermi today.  I saw Dr. Henderson and she is a resident at HF.  I went to see a dermi because of the previous post of my sores on my scalp.   She looked me over and was very concerned with the one I have on top of my scalp.  It's deep and she thought it could turn into a cancerous problem.  I did tell her that is where my previous dermi did the punch biopsy.  Dr. H brought in another dr for a second opinion and that doctor stated that if that wound wasn't closed up by stitches and I have lupus, the wound might not have closed up and healed properly.  So in essence, it made Dr. H feel better that it was the area of the punch biopsy.   So today, as I had a hunch, I was injected with cortisone.  That is something I never will forget but she was a lot better than my previous dermi.  She was gentle and gave me some breaks.  I had injections done to the side areas and my crater on top.  The cortisone ...

My head is going to explode!

Ah the life of a lupie!  So much fun! A few days ago, I left eye started to hurt and I thought it was just typical crappy weather problem.  That started Wednesday.  Long story short... it puffed out and I had a fever of 101. Not a pretty picture at all.  It was a lot worse than this.  Just hated  how I looked and felt, especially with the holidays coming around and the noise. Anywho, went to the family doctor today and she gave me antibiotics (augmentin) and boy those are HUGE pills!  Plus she recommended a saline flush so why not.  So now I'm home and just wanted to update my blog since I haven't in some time.  I have been writing in my journal of my own personal thoughts but I like to keep my medical stuff on here so I can refer back. Ok, I'm going to lay down and sleep this pain off.
