WHAT A GREAT DAY FOR A WALK!

Beautiful sunny weather, slight breeze and the water!  Love being a Michigander during this time of season!

Had a great walk this year despite getting a late setup with my fundraising but still people responded.  So thankful for all, donating or not! Times are rough but thoughts/prayers are worth something too! :)
Anyhoo, walking with me was Stacy and my folks.  Plus this year the Lupus Alliance of Michigan Indiana Chapter had beads and each color represented different people.

 Orange: You have Lupus
Blue: Supporting/Knowing someone with Lupus
White: You lost someone to Lupus

I really liked that since it shows how everyone is connected in the grand scheme of life.

Afterwards, Stacy and I went to Buffalo Wild Wings and had some lunch!  Plus my boys and I are getting ready to head over there and maybe have a fire and just relax after this day.

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO SUPPORTED ME THIS YEAR!  I DO APPRECIATE ALL YOU DO FOR ME AND THOSE WHO ARE AFFECTED BY LUPUS!

OK here's the poop on the Dermi today.  I saw Dr. Henderson and she is a resident at HF.  I went to see a dermi because of the previous post of my sores on my scalp.   She looked me over and was very concerned with the one I have on top of my scalp.  It's deep and she thought it could turn into a cancerous problem.  I did tell her that is where my previous dermi did the punch biopsy.  Dr. H brought in another dr for a second opinion and that doctor stated that if that wound wasn't closed up by stitches and I have lupus, the wound might not have closed up and healed properly.  So in essence, it made Dr. H feel better that it was the area of the punch biopsy.   So today, as I had a hunch, I was injected with cortisone.  That is something I never will forget but she was a lot better than my previous dermi.  She was gentle and gave me some breaks.  I had injections done to the side areas and my crater on top.  The cortisone ...

My head is going to explode!

Ah the life of a lupie!  So much fun! A few days ago, I left eye started to hurt and I thought it was just typical crappy weather problem.  That started Wednesday.  Long story short... it puffed out and I had a fever of 101. Not a pretty picture at all.  It was a lot worse than this.  Just hated  how I looked and felt, especially with the holidays coming around and the noise. Anywho, went to the family doctor today and she gave me antibiotics (augmentin) and boy those are HUGE pills!  Plus she recommended a saline flush so why not.  So now I'm home and just wanted to update my blog since I haven't in some time.  I have been writing in my journal of my own personal thoughts but I like to keep my medical stuff on here so I can refer back. Ok, I'm going to lay down and sleep this pain off.
