September Update

I am still in shock how fast summer is ending! Why can't winter be this short? Anywho, I have a wild, packed month ahead of me and it is all contained in one week! Anywho here's the breakdown:
  • Sept 20th ~ having a few friends over to party
  • Sept 22nd ~ My sister's birthday and my last measurements before surgery
  • Sept 24th ~ My birthday! YAY!
  • Sept 25th ~ My surgery
  • Sept 26th ~ Post Op
  • Sept 27th ~ Lupus Walk
  • Sept 28th ~ Christening for his side of the family.
See what I mean! YIKES! I cannot wait for the surgery to be done so I can concentrate on getting better and back to life. I know this is a September post but on Oct 1st, I am trying for St Germaine's choir for the season. This will be a first for me! Really nervous about it but it will be an experience! :)
I will post on the above events when they happen and when I have the moment in time.

OK here's the poop on the Dermi today.  I saw Dr. Henderson and she is a resident at HF.  I went to see a dermi because of the previous post of my sores on my scalp.   She looked me over and was very concerned with the one I have on top of my scalp.  It's deep and she thought it could turn into a cancerous problem.  I did tell her that is where my previous dermi did the punch biopsy.  Dr. H brought in another dr for a second opinion and that doctor stated that if that wound wasn't closed up by stitches and I have lupus, the wound might not have closed up and healed properly.  So in essence, it made Dr. H feel better that it was the area of the punch biopsy.   So today, as I had a hunch, I was injected with cortisone.  That is something I never will forget but she was a lot better than my previous dermi.  She was gentle and gave me some breaks.  I had injections done to the side areas and my crater on top.  The cortisone ...

My head is going to explode!

Ah the life of a lupie!  So much fun! A few days ago, I left eye started to hurt and I thought it was just typical crappy weather problem.  That started Wednesday.  Long story short... it puffed out and I had a fever of 101. Not a pretty picture at all.  It was a lot worse than this.  Just hated  how I looked and felt, especially with the holidays coming around and the noise. Anywho, went to the family doctor today and she gave me antibiotics (augmentin) and boy those are HUGE pills!  Plus she recommended a saline flush so why not.  So now I'm home and just wanted to update my blog since I haven't in some time.  I have been writing in my journal of my own personal thoughts but I like to keep my medical stuff on here so I can refer back. Ok, I'm going to lay down and sleep this pain off.
