Monumentus Point in Life

Ok so I am exaggerating but I feel it is. Today being my 34th birthday is also my last birthday with glasses! Tomorrow I am going in for Lasik! I am so nervous but excited too! I am glad that I have an extra day to relax since my weekend is already filled with activities. I have my Lupus Walk on Saturday and then a Christening on Sunday.

It's all go go go. Next week will be the church's practice tryouts for the choir (which I am excited about) and then the blessing of the pets for St. Francis on Oct 4th at St Mary's. At least most of the activities are not long and arduous but they tend to be right in the middle of the day. Oh well, I guess sacrifices are a part of life!

Have a good rest of the week (last full of week of September!!!)

OK here's the poop on the Dermi today.  I saw Dr. Henderson and she is a resident at HF.  I went to see a dermi because of the previous post of my sores on my scalp.   She looked me over and was very concerned with the one I have on top of my scalp.  It's deep and she thought it could turn into a cancerous problem.  I did tell her that is where my previous dermi did the punch biopsy.  Dr. H brought in another dr for a second opinion and that doctor stated that if that wound wasn't closed up by stitches and I have lupus, the wound might not have closed up and healed properly.  So in essence, it made Dr. H feel better that it was the area of the punch biopsy.   So today, as I had a hunch, I was injected with cortisone.  That is something I never will forget but she was a lot better than my previous dermi.  She was gentle and gave me some breaks.  I had injections done to the side areas and my crater on top.  The cortisone ...

My head is going to explode!

Ah the life of a lupie!  So much fun! A few days ago, I left eye started to hurt and I thought it was just typical crappy weather problem.  That started Wednesday.  Long story short... it puffed out and I had a fever of 101. Not a pretty picture at all.  It was a lot worse than this.  Just hated  how I looked and felt, especially with the holidays coming around and the noise. Anywho, went to the family doctor today and she gave me antibiotics (augmentin) and boy those are HUGE pills!  Plus she recommended a saline flush so why not.  So now I'm home and just wanted to update my blog since I haven't in some time.  I have been writing in my journal of my own personal thoughts but I like to keep my medical stuff on here so I can refer back. Ok, I'm going to lay down and sleep this pain off.
