2012 Memorial Camping, Rogers City, MI

Our camping trip for Memorial Weekend was to Rogers City, MI (just north of Alpena).  Our sites were pretty cool since we had the back woods for the pups to play.

 We had a chance to use the collars as well.  All of our dogs did pretty well.  We kept our two on their lead for safety reasons.  Anyhoo, the weather wasn't too bad until Sunday when it rained in the afternoon and didn't clear up until 3 or 4 ish. 

The loaded gummi bears were great but the swedish fish, eh.. I rather leave them unloaded.  Also tried cornbread over the campfire.  Another lesson learned on that as well.  We went to the lighthouse and the pups got to swim and bust out some of the energy they have.  Then we saw the Ocqueoc falls and walked around there as well.

This was our first trip here and it was very successful.  We left Monday and the temperature shot up to 92 with black flies all about.  So glad we left that day.  Overall a great trip!

OK here's the poop on the Dermi today.  I saw Dr. Henderson and she is a resident at HF.  I went to see a dermi because of the previous post of my sores on my scalp.   She looked me over and was very concerned with the one I have on top of my scalp.  It's deep and she thought it could turn into a cancerous problem.  I did tell her that is where my previous dermi did the punch biopsy.  Dr. H brought in another dr for a second opinion and that doctor stated that if that wound wasn't closed up by stitches and I have lupus, the wound might not have closed up and healed properly.  So in essence, it made Dr. H feel better that it was the area of the punch biopsy.   So today, as I had a hunch, I was injected with cortisone.  That is something I never will forget but she was a lot better than my previous dermi.  She was gentle and gave me some breaks.  I had injections done to the side areas and my crater on top.  The cortisone ...

My head is going to explode!

Ah the life of a lupie!  So much fun! A few days ago, I left eye started to hurt and I thought it was just typical crappy weather problem.  That started Wednesday.  Long story short... it puffed out and I had a fever of 101. Not a pretty picture at all.  It was a lot worse than this.  Just hated  how I looked and felt, especially with the holidays coming around and the noise. Anywho, went to the family doctor today and she gave me antibiotics (augmentin) and boy those are HUGE pills!  Plus she recommended a saline flush so why not.  So now I'm home and just wanted to update my blog since I haven't in some time.  I have been writing in my journal of my own personal thoughts but I like to keep my medical stuff on here so I can refer back. Ok, I'm going to lay down and sleep this pain off.
