Vacation 2007 ~ Camping

Ah vacation time was wonderful! We went up to Tahquanemon Falls from June 30th and left on July 4th. It was way relaxing and it couldnt of come at a better time. The 2 weeks prior I put in 23 hours of OT over the weekend. I got the check and to be quite honest, that kind of OT was just not worth the mental anguish. Anywho, I am getting back to my workout tomorrow since almost every joint is killing me and working out seems to relieve the pain.
The weather up north was nice. We had 70s and mostly sunny weather. The last two days it was cloudy but it helped with all the walking we did. Piper did really good with the drive up north. She slept in the back seat of the truck. She discovered water and had a blast jumping and swimming. Most of the night's she wanted to go to bed on her own. It was so funny to see how pooped the pup was. :)

Overall, it was fun and relaxing! Well, it is back to the grind tomorrow but at least we got a break and spent some time together.

OK here's the poop on the Dermi today.  I saw Dr. Henderson and she is a resident at HF.  I went to see a dermi because of the previous post of my sores on my scalp.   She looked me over and was very concerned with the one I have on top of my scalp.  It's deep and she thought it could turn into a cancerous problem.  I did tell her that is where my previous dermi did the punch biopsy.  Dr. H brought in another dr for a second opinion and that doctor stated that if that wound wasn't closed up by stitches and I have lupus, the wound might not have closed up and healed properly.  So in essence, it made Dr. H feel better that it was the area of the punch biopsy.   So today, as I had a hunch, I was injected with cortisone.  That is something I never will forget but she was a lot better than my previous dermi.  She was gentle and gave me some breaks.  I had injections done to the side areas and my crater on top.  The cortisone ...

My head is going to explode!

Ah the life of a lupie!  So much fun! A few days ago, I left eye started to hurt and I thought it was just typical crappy weather problem.  That started Wednesday.  Long story short... it puffed out and I had a fever of 101. Not a pretty picture at all.  It was a lot worse than this.  Just hated  how I looked and felt, especially with the holidays coming around and the noise. Anywho, went to the family doctor today and she gave me antibiotics (augmentin) and boy those are HUGE pills!  Plus she recommended a saline flush so why not.  So now I'm home and just wanted to update my blog since I haven't in some time.  I have been writing in my journal of my own personal thoughts but I like to keep my medical stuff on here so I can refer back. Ok, I'm going to lay down and sleep this pain off.
